Please note these deadlines for CBIRD's FY27 funding opportunities and key events:

  • Pilot Awards - Letters of Intent (LOI) due December 9, 2026; full applications due January 20, 2027
  • Partnership & Engagement Grants (PEG) - due January 20, 2027
  • Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURF) - open December 1, 2026; applications due January 15, 2027
  • Action Potential Grants (APG) - open now with rolling deadlines
  • CBIRD Research Day - March 31 - April 2, 2027

 

Funding 

  • CTSI 2027 Translational Science Pilot Awards
    CTSI is seeking to fund pilots for their theme, “Advancing Innovative Solutions to Accelerate Translational Science.” Pre-applications are due September 21. Visit here to learn more or visit here to read the RFA.
     
  • FY27 Soter Summit Award
    This award will provide up to $250,000 over three years to support an innovative team science project that generates preliminary data for future extramural funding opportunities and/or national center grants. Special consideration will be given to projects addressing stress, pregnancy, cardiovascular health, cancer, and menopause/midlife. Please see the RFA for details. Applications due December 18.   • AMC Innovative Health Foundation | Brain Health Research
    Amount: $400,000 to $5,000,000, LOI: 09/24/2026, The AMC Innovative Health Foundation will suppport high-risk, high-impact research projects on brain health conditions, including neurodegenerative diseases, infection-associated neurological conditions, developmental disorders, brain injuries, brain tumors, and stroke.
